​OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION: SAQA 94597 HEALTH PROMOTION OFFICER L3

​

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to carry out basic assessments of communities, households groups and individuals to prevent diseases and improving healthy lifestyles. 

​

THE COURSE CONTAINS THREE STREAMS:

 

- A ward based PHC outreach team for each electoral ward.

- Strengthening school health services.

- District based clinical specialist teams with an initial focus on improving maternal and child health.

- 12 months course 

- Course includes, theory, practical and workplace

- Classes are offered in hybrid format, face to face and online learning.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

Learners who want to register for this qualification must have;

• Ancillary Health Care NQF Level 1

• ABET Level 4

• Grade 10 to 12. If you have 33.3% pass in Maths and English in Grade 12 you are exempted from doing Foundational Learning Competence (FLC) however if you have ABET Level 4, grade 10, and 11 you must have FLC

• If you have grade 10, you must possess English L4, Life Science (Biology) L4, Math Literacy L4.

Tuition: R 18, 100.00 (Eighteen Thousand, One Hundred rand) as lump sum upon registration

R 6,700.00 and 10 monthly     payments of R 1140.00 per month
